The small town of Shepherdstown, W.Va., is about to have a big year. Beginning in a few weeks, it kicks off 12 months of celebrations marking its 250th birthday. The first events will take place Nov. 25-27 and Dec. 2-4 during Christmas in Shepherdstown. Activities include chestnut roasting, a Christmas bazaar, carriage rides and, of course, appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Shepherdstown is about 80 miles northwest of Washington.
